Bourns - A500K Split Shaft Pot
Is it common practice to use "A" logarithmic for Volume and "B" Linear for the tone on a gibson les paul?

They have shifted production around for both resistance and taper a few times throughout the years. Thus, there is no "correct" way. It really comes down to personal preference. Most commonly, you'll see A500K used in all positions. Some prefer B500K for tone, especially if they use 50's style wiring for the tone pots. The options are endless, and you'll get opinions varying all over the map for what is the "right" way. If you're not sure what your preference is, just copy what's already in there.
