Generic - DC2.1mm Cable 27" (female-to-female)
All of my life I've been getting it wrong! It makes total sense after you describe it, with the conductor "pin" vs "hole" set to male vs female respectively.
In terms of "generic" cable is there any functional difference to more expensive power cables for pedal boards? (e.g. offerings from Strymon or 1 Spot etc?)

It took a while for me to get my head around too! As for branded vs generic, I couldn't tell you for certain, but it's possible branded versions have thicker insulation or possibly thicker gauge wire. In either case, if it is under a pedalboard and not getting kicked around or moved frequently, neither would make a difference.
