Currently im trying to make a BC109 style Fuzzface but because i can't find very cheap low gain BC109's, im thinking about buying BC549s. (some say they are a modern equivalent of the former just in a plastic case)

Transistor - BC549
Another versatile NPN transistor called for in many circuits. PLEASE NOTE: Never bend the leads in such a way as to apply any stress to the casing. Always use a heat sink when soldering.
