Appropriate drill size
Jack Plate - 1/4" Round Black Metal
Hi again, what would be the appropriate drill bit/hole saw diameter be to install this plate? The drawing doesn't provide that. Knowing would be handy so I have an appropriate tool in hand when it arrives.
Thanks!

That depends on your design preferences, since the indent is tapered. If you are just cutting a straight hole, you'd need at least 1 1/8" (or a 1" hole with some sanding/filing around the edge). If you're doing an edge rabbet for the taper, you would use a 7/8" through-hole and a 1/4" rabbet bit to about 1/4" deep. If you're shaping the hole to the taper, you could use a 7/8" hole, and taper as necessary.
